Hi,

This is my last blog post of the year and that is why I am going to do it from the whole year!  Out of all the years I have been in school I am going to have to say that it has been the best year this year.!    The reason it is the best year is because my teacher was very very awesome, and our class is all going to miss her next year because she is going to Scotland for fun and adventure, but she did say that she was going try come back and watch us graduate from Elementary!  Well now I will tell you what I liked most about our year!  In January our class had a sleepover at the school, we did it because we want to talk to different places around the world but normally we are sleeping when they are in school so we got to stay up so that we could talk to them!  We also had a potluck for supper, they had really good food there and before we went to bed they gave us hot chocolate and cookies!  My favourite thing that happened in September was when we started Marvin!  Marvin is were you use a game to make a story out of your life with characters that are 3d!  Then when we were finally done them in December we went to the movie mill to watch the ones that got picked for the best ones!  Mine was one that got picked so we got to watch mine in the movie mill, and then at the assembly my teacher, Ms.Deyenberg, gave two stuffed animals out to the two kids videos that she like the most!  My favourite thing that we have done this month is Canadian Please it is a project were our class is in several groups and we have to make videos for a song, and the song it actually called Canadian Please~!  Well thank you very much for reading my last blog post of the year!  !P

Hi!  This week in school my class was very very busy, my teacher Ms.Deyenberg had a really bad infected eye and couldn’t come to school so she got our inturn  teacher which is now a real teacher came and taught us for 3 days!  Yesterday Ms.Deyenberg finally came back but she had to wear a eye patch all day because her eye wasn’t allowed to have light!  In social class we are making videos to a song that is called Canadian Please. Here is what the video looks like!  My group is making a different version of the video but with the same song.!  For the one part of the song were it says you go the hospital and not pay fees, we did it were one person in my group pushed another person on a cart because they had a broken leg and they just ran into the hospital and they got them right into a room!  The video is really really fun, and when the one person was getting pushed on the cart she drove her into the wall by accident!

Also this week my class skype with Hamilton!  While we were doing my teacher was still wearing a eye patch but she had to switch to a different one because on the other side of the camera it would of looked like she had no eye on the one side!    In PE we are doing football and when we were playing we thought up a name for our football and it was Bobby Joe Boomerang!  The reason we named him that was because when it didn’t go straight them it would come flying back at you!  Also after that we played a game that is called jackpot, it is when someone throws they call out a number up to 500 and as low as 50o!  Who ever gets to 500 first gets to be the person who goes up and throw it to people to catch it!  On last Friday we had our track and field, I got in first place for high jump out of my group!  Also the team that i was on got 1st place out of 4 teams!  Thank you very much for reading my blog this week! 

Here our five tips to follow when you are on the Internet!

Never ever give out personal information or put a picture of you on you should make an avatar instead! For example here is the avatar i made for online websites!

When on Msn or something like that a someone adds you do not accept it because they could be people that are just trying to get your information so they can ask you to meet up with them!

When someone tells you to meet them someowhere  but you don’t know them you should just go to an adult and tell them what they had said! 

When someone starts to email you and you don’t know them block them off your email so you won’t receive their messages that they are sending you!

Don’t get infromation off the internet unless you know for sure that it is true because some people just put it on to try and trick people!

Next week my class gets to go on our class field trip!  We are going to Beauvais Lake to studie bugs and go for a walk and find a geocache!  Today my class had our very last baby vistit in our class, because it was our last visit we got cake and gave her all of the stuff that we made her and gave her the scrapbook that our Roots Of Empathy teacher made for her!  Also today my class had a math test I didn’t think it was that hard because she let us review all of it the day before!  In Science we are learning about the wetlands and that is also why we get to go to Beauvais Lake because they have all of the bugs that we are learning about in our curriculum!  In L.A we have been learning about Mt. Vesuvius and when it exploded and how many people it had killed or even just maybe injured!  In art class we are making string art pictures for our Fathers day present because fathers day is coming up soon!  Yesterday we got a presentation that was all about Autism!  We got to play a game at the beginning that was trying to show us what it felt like for people who have Autism everyday!  Thank you for reading my blog this week and I hope you enjoyed it!

Hi this week in school we only had to go to school for 3 days!  The reason we only had to go for 3 days is because on Monday it was Queen Victoria’s birthday and then on Tuesday it was a P.D day.  P.D day is were our teachers have to go to school to learn how to be better teachers!  Also this week on Wednesday my regular teacher was there but on Thursday my teacher that was just here for 4 months got his papers back that said he could become a full time teacher so my teacher, Ms.Deyenberg, asked him if he could come and teach us!  Today my school had a day were we all got to pick our favourite jersey and then we got to wear it to school and everyone had different jerseys, there were only a couple ones that were the same!  After we are done writing our blog post we are going to record our podcast all about all of Canada!  Also my substutut teacher,Mr.VanDyk, fixed our smart board before our teacher did!  My class is going on a year end trip witch is on June 8!  What we are doing on our trip is we are going to be climbing a mountain and then after lunch we are going to be studying the Wetlands so we get to look and a whole bunch of bugs!  Also on June 11 we are having Track and Field day at our school.  If you don’t know what Track and Field day is it is were you get to play a whole bunch of activities and then if you win them you get ribbons the ribbons are either 1,2,3,or 4!  Yesterday in my class to help us get prepared for our test on Monday we got to use the brand new Senteos!  The Senteos are little devises that you use to write tests on and they have to hooked up to a smart board so you can use smart notebook  for the questions!  In gym my class is practising for our Track and Field day, but yesterday we got to play ultimate Frisbee on scooter boards!  In art class we are making wallpaper skylines!  Also this week my class had to get needles for the last time this year!  They hurt when they were putting the medicine into our bodies but when they just poked us with the needle it didn’t even hurt. Yesterday my class had a video conference with a town way north of where we live and it is called Big Valley!  We did it to show them what kinds of experiments that we are doing in chemistry and they showed us what they are doing in their chemistry class!  How we are video conferencing with them is our school has a big stand that has a flat screen T.V on it and a microphone, and then you dial in the schools number that you are going to talk to and then they answer their phone and talk to you!  Here is a picture of it!  I will explain to you what the experiments we did were!  So the one that we did was we put a bottle of diet Pepsi in a tub so that it won’t leak!  Then my teacher put a whole role of mentos in it ( Hint: It only works with peppermint mentos!) and then you watch it and some if the Pepsi will go shooting out because it is trying to exscape the gases from the mentos!  We did it with two kinds of pepsi one was frozen and one was just room temperature!  The room temperature one went about one meter in the air and the one Pepsi that was  frozen only went about 3 inches in the air, the reason that happened was because the molecules were tightly packed and in the room temperature one the were all just going everywhere!  The other school that we were talking two did an experiment called Magic Jug.  It is were they put 15ml of Ethanol in a jug and then they put a match on a stick and drop it into that jug and then the jug just went KABOOM!  The reason in caused that is because it had oxygen in the jug but when we tried it again it didn’t work because instead of having oxygen in the jug it had carbon dioxide!  Well I think you would be getting kind of bored of reading all about my chemistry V.C I will start to talk about another thing I did this week!  Also this week my class finished our Kids Marathon that we have been doing since April 29 and we just finished on Monday witch was May 17!  So after that my class got to have a party with a movie and a couple of snacks!  The movie we watched was called Night At The Museum!  This week we have also started making quadrilateral movies on Windows Movie Maker!  My teacher Ms. Deyenberg was on our local news and newspaper for using so much tecnologie to teach my class so we don’t get bored!  Well thank you so much for reading my blog this week!  Hope you have a great weekend!

This week in school my class has been running 4 kilometers every day because we had to run 40 kilometers before the end of the year!  The reason we had to run 40 by the end of this week is because some of the kids in my class are going to run the last 2 kilometers that we have to in a town that is near to us!  Also on June 8 we are having our grade 5 field trip to Bouvvais Lake to studie our Science unit, which is Wetlands!  Last night my school and the other school in our town had a Band concert to raise money for new band instruments!  My class played 1 and we got to play two pieces of music!  The pieces were called “Two Canadian Folk Song” and “Penguin Promanade!”  In L.A we are learning about Mt. Vesuvius and playing on Ds’s and the game we are playing is ” Professors Layton and the Curious Village!”  The game is were you have to solve mystery’s to try and find the golden leaf that Baron ( the person on the game that passed away)  hid before he had passed away!  Dr. Professor Layton has a friend that came to help him find it and his name is Luke!

If I were to have to go to the woods and I was only allowed to bring five things I would bring a:

Hatchet-  A hatchet is like a mini ax except you can hook it to your belt loop to make it easier to carry.  The reason I would bring a Hatchet is because they can start fires.  The can also help you  to kill animals and maybe fish because you can make the end of a stick sharp and then throw it at them.

Rope-  A rope is a long string except a little bit thicker!  The reason I would bring a rope is because you can tie it to trees and make it so that you have sticks all around you to make a shelter.  It could also help you to tie a rope across from two trees and then hang it over the fire to cook your food if you had any!

Tarp-  A tarp is made out of a whole bunch of little plastic strings that are glued all together!   The reason I would bring a tarp is because you can use it to hang it over you while you are sleeping.  The other reason i would take a tarp is because if it is a very cold night and your fire goes out but it isn’t raining or snowing you could just use the tarp to wrap your whole body up in it!

First Aid Kit-  A first aid kit is just a kit that is full of all medical things like bandages and streching bands to wrap around your leg or arm if you break it!  The reason I would bring a first aid kit is because if you cut yourself or anything like that and you don’t have anything to cover it with to stop it from bleeding!   Another reason I would bring a first aid kit is because if you have food and you need to cut it up or something you can use the scissors that normally come with it!

Flint-  A flint is a little thing that you hit against a hatchet and it will spark to make a fire!  The reason I would bring a Flint is because if they have no flint rock there you can’t start a fire with a hatchet because it won’t spark!  Another reason why I would bring a flint is because you can use it to start fires and you could also scare off animals because if you light it and then chase after an animal you will scare it off!

The reason we had to write this blog post is because we got to read a book that gave us ideas and then we also got to watch a movie about the book.  Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post about what I would bring to the woods!

Today in school we had crazy hair  day!  It is where you do you hair as crazy as you can get it!  For crazy hair day I back combed all my hair so it looks like a big rats nest and then i  lots and lots of hairspray in it to make it all stay up because it was really windy outside!  Also yesterday some of the kids in our school got pizza because we get a Hot lunch once every month!  Yesterday we also had a spelling bee against Hamilton and i spelt the word interior right!  My teacher Ms.Deyenberg got an award for being an excellence in teaching award!  Also in my class we are doing a Mt. Vesuvius unit in L.A and we also get to plays games on DS that help us learn our vocabulary better so that we learn more words!  On Wednesday my town and a couple of other towns around me had a huge blizzard, it was raining and snowing and also there was a wicked wind and blew down some of our big trees and shut some of the power of around our neighborhood.  When my mom was driving me home from school I looked out of the window and i seen the my neighbors tree fell down and landed on there holiday trailer!  We are also doing a kid’s marathon and so far we have ran 14.5 kilometers and we are supposed top run 42.0!  This week it is education week and every morning at 9:00 we get to go to our Families that we made in school and read a book that is called Mice At Centre Ice!  Last week we got to do another Think project and all we were allowed to use were some straws, a pack of cards, and a box of paper clips.!  Thank you for reading my blog today and i hope you have a good week! :)
